COASTAL HAZARDS @ VIRGINIA TECH
Research Themes
Disaster ResilienceWe aim to reduce the potential for coastal hazards to evolve into disasters, in the context of both climate stressors (e.g., sea-level rise) and societal stressors (e.g., population growth).
|
Hazard AssessmentWe aim to improve the reliability of quantitative coastal hazard assessments, including future projections incorporating sea-level rise and climate change.

|
Natural InfrastructureWe aim to improve understanding of the role of vegetation and beaches in coastal hazard mitigation, including the influence of sea-level rise on their mitigation potential.
